Christmas presents

Every year my one friend rotates her Christmas decorations between a Snowman Christmas, Santa Christmas, and Penguin Christmas. She has a lot of time on her hands, lol. This year is a Snowman Christmas, so for her birthday in October I made her the snowman off of the Lion Brand website.

For Christmas I decided to make her the penguin and santa off of the Lion website, too, so she has a complete set.

Now I just have to wait to give them to her. That's the hardest part, lol!

Amigurumi base help?

Hi...

I have started to make some little Amigurumi and since I don't have much money this year for gifts I thought I would make Amigurumi for my nephew...
now I have looked around and I haven't found something to help me much on my project... you see I am looking for a base pattern really beauce I want to make Astro as an Amigurumi I know someone did an Etsy for Astro the original version but my nephew only know the blue jacket version.

I'm pretty sure I can figure out the pointy parts by myself... but I would need a good base body... Any free patterns I could base this off?

Thank you for your help, I personally would like the old version of Astro but kids nowdays...if it's not close it's no cigar...

31 Amigurumi in October - A little late ^^;

Every October, I make one unique Moon Bun design for every day in October. Usually I put these up in the community as one big post soon after the series is over, but this year, I was so busy I didn't have the time until now.

Enjoy!

Lots of Photos here! )

I was just thinking... Has anyone tried to make an amigurumi with a smell? I guess it would be nice to put some coffee beans or, perhaps, some dry herbs (sachet or whatever they're called) inside, so the toy would have a slight fragrance...

Of course, this smell will fade out after a while, but still the idea seems to be not that bad. However, such toys would not be safe for cleaning I guess... But then, if it's a collectible, not an actual toy for kids, it won't see much dirt or dust if kept properly...

What do you think?

Octopus

I used this free pattern on Lion Brand Yarn's website to make an octopus.  I used blue yarn instead of purple.  It was easy!!  Though the tentacles took forever.  Have fun!!

I'm making my adviser/mentor/best professor in the universe an ami Danton (from the French Revolution). However, I'm at a loss for his hair.

Any ideas? Here's a reference pic of the historical hottie. ;)

Eyes!

Long time crocheter, first time poster! Unfortunately I don't have anything awesome to show off (yet, anyway), but I come with a question. Where in the heck do you guys get your eyes from?? I live in central NJ, ten minutes away from a Michael's, and I KNOW they don't carry them. There's an AC Moore about 20 minutes from me, but I'd just like to know what you guys do before I start driving around the tri-county area for no reason. (If it helps what I'm talking about, I'm looking to make this guy. I only make small things, so big fancy eyes are pretty unnecessary.) Thanks!
